As we've informed before, In an effort to optimize our network architecture, we have undertaken a large migration effort to restructure our data center facilities, moving from our SAVVIS location to a more centralized facility, the Dallas Databank data center. This migration will allow Alps HOST
customers to utilize the following:
Latest enterprise and enhanced network equipment
Multiple 10 gigabit internet connections
Fully redundant virtual Cisco switching equipment
Diverse carrier blend
The Databank facility also has a highly efficient and “Green Power” usage policy.
As a result of this massive undertaking, some servers will be replaced with new and better ones and other will be transported to Databank in several phases.
Also all servers will be allocated a new IP range.
We've migrated several servers few months ago and for now, we'll migrate all other servers. Here is the details in this regard :
ALPS04 (Web server, Current IP Address : 209.67.213.114) : This server will be transported to Databank on Sep. 26th. We expect 2-3 hours downtime during transportation. Web sites' IP will be changed to 72.232.203.234.
ALPS05 (SQL Server, Current IP Address : 72.36.200.115) : This server will be upgraded and rebuild in Databank next week. We'll move all databases so there will not any downtime expected. The server IP will be changed to 72.232.160.66. We'll update all SQL A records in our DNS servers so if you are using sql.yourdomain.com in your connection strings then the migration of this server will be seamless for you. Otherwise you'll need to change your connection string before migration.
ALPS06 (Web server, Current IP Address : 72.36.146.194) : This server will be transported to Databank on Sep. 19th. We expect 2-3 hours downtime during transportation. Web sites' IP will be changed to 72.232.213.138.
ALPS08 (Web server, Current IP Address : 72.36.227.194) : This server will be upgraded and rebuild in Databank next week. To migrate all web sites on this server we'll need to disable FTP service of this server for few hours on Sep. 20th. There will not any other downtime expected. Web sites' IP will be changed to 72.232.160.58.
ALPS09 (Web server, Current IP Address : 72.21.59.210) : This server will be transported to Databank on Sep. 19th. We expect 2-3 hours downtime during transportation. Web sites' IP will be changed to 72.232.211.50.
ALPS12 (SQL Server, Current IP Address : 72.232.88.146) : This server will be upgraded and rebuild in Databank next week. We'll move all databases so there will not any downtime expected. The server IP will be changed to 72.232.160.202. We'll update all SQL A records in our DNS servers so if you are using sql.yourdomain.com in your connection strings then the migration of this server will be seamless for you. Otherwise you'll need to change your connection string before migration.
ALPS13 (Web server, Current IP Address : 72.36.213.138) : This server will be transported to Databank on Sep. 26th. We expect 2-3 hours downtime during transportation. Web sites' IP will be changed to 72.232.203.250.
ALPS15 (Web server, Current IP Address : 72.36.151.90) : This server will be transported to Databank on Sep. 19th. We expect 2-3 hours downtime during transportation. Web sites' IP will be changed to 72.232.213.234.
ALPS16 (Mail Server, Current IP Address : 72.36.230.42) : This server will be transported to Databank on Sep. 19th. We expect 2-3 hours downtime during transportation. Server IP will be changed to 72.232.212.66.
ALPS19 (Web server, Current IP Address : 72.36.146.170) : This server will be transported to Databank on Sep. 26th. We expect 2-3 hours downtime during transportation. Web sites' IP will be changed to 72.232.203.106.
ALPS21 (Mail server, Current IP Address : 216.32.71.66) : This server will be transported to Databank on Sep. 26th. We expect 2-3 hours downtime during transportation. Mailserver's IP will be changed to 72.232.203.98.
